Robert Quinn, Owner and Operator, Bob’s career with the company, which is now TQ Properties,  began in 1982 when he accepted a position as Controller.  After streamlining the accounting operations for what were then three hotels, two of which had attached restaurants, he was promoted to Director of Operations in March of 1992.   In the summer of 1994, during the acquisition of the Holiday Inn – Pocatello, he acquired an ownership position in the company and to this date has continued as Owner & Operator.

                During his career, he has been involved with the planning and development of four new hotels.  These include Oceanview Resort, Seaside Ore. opened in 1988, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Astoria, Ore. opened in 2004, Candlewood Suites, Meridian, Idaho opened in 2006 and Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Ontario, Ore. opened in 2008.  Although not involved with architectural design and construction management on the first two projects, he oversaw all aspects of the design and build for the Candlewood – Meridian, Idaho, and the Holiday Express – Ontario, Ore.  In 2008, Bob received the Ontario Businessman of the Year award and served as Ontario Chamber President in 2009.  He continues to maintain his position as a community leader and is passionate about it.

                One of Bob’s primary goals has always been to operate hotels that are not only exceeding guests’ expectations but ensure that it is never forgotten that “it’s our employees that really make that happen.”  His attitude of “if you take care of the customer and take care of the employees, the bottom line will take care of itself” helped maintain his properties in the top of their respective franchise systems.

 

Barbara Johnson, Controller, Barb’s career has evolved from banking, manufacturing, healthcare to hospitality accounting.  This journey has given Barb a well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of accounting, i.e.; accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, budgets and financial reporting.  Her philosophy- “if you watch the pennies the dollars fall in place”- underscores that Barb is a stickler for details; from the small dollar invoice to be paid to the large dollar corporate sales account.  Barb started with TQ Properties in 2006 and has filled the controller position for their seven properties over the past five years.  She keeps involved with the daily operations of the hotels by reviewing the financial reports, in detail, with each manager on a monthly basis and leading the weekly management property walk-through/inspections.  Though Barb has a degree in accounting and has received several service awards during her accounting career since 1978; she would be the first to tell you that her biggest achievement is the ability to be a team member; either directing or participating.  Accounting, like Sales and Operations, is an intricate part of managing any business and Barb is an asset to our management team.
